Edward “Ed” Nunley Obituary
Roy Edward “Ed” Nunley, age 77 of Dunlap, TN passed away Friday, August 2,2024. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Dunlap, and a veteran of the United States Army. Ed was the District 4 County Commissioner for Sequatchie County, a member of the Sequatchie County 911 Board, The Sequatchie County Chamber of Commerce Board, The Sequatchie County Cancer Network Board, a member of the Masonic lodge, The Lions Club, and a volunteer for ValleyFest. If there was a community outreach project Ed was there to help, he especially loved participating in the Lions Club Annual Christmas Toy Drive. Ed was a beloved community servant who took joy and pride in helping anyone and everyone he could. When he was not serving the community through numerous organizations he was involved in, he was working at Ewton Funeral Home and Cremation Center. He was a pleasure to work with and we will all miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Worley and Roy Nunley sisters, Gale Nunley and Treva Morrision: brother, Cecil Nunley: and nephews Michael Land, Josh Nunley, and David Land.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan “Susie” Nunley; daughters, Nyree (Derrek) Tallent, and Nicol (Lee) Evans; grandchildren, Brandon Tallent, Lexi (Will) Tallent and Logan Evans; Sister, June Reed; brother, Allen Nunley, as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters and brother in law.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 12 PM in the chapel of Ewton Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Family will receive friends Monday, August 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
The County would like to share our condolences. Mr.Nunley was an active Commissioner and Citizen of Sequatchie County. He will be missed dearly.
